We all know we should conduct self breast exams — women and men. While my doctor always tells me to feel for lumps, I’ve always wondered exactly what kind of lump. We’ve got lots of bumpy stuff in our breasts like milk ducts. How the hell am I supposed to know what is supposed to feel like what?
Anyway, last week I noticed a lump in the lower part of my armpit, and naturally I freaked out. I mean, it most likely was some kind of cyst, but I was still worried. Thankfully I found this handy guide from Worldwide Breast Cancer. It made distinguishing between all the different breast textures so much easier. Pass it around to your friends and let them know similarities between breasts and lemons.
Btw, it ended up being a cyst. After a trip to the doctor and round of antibiotics, I’m back to normal.
